Chapter 1: The Fall
Millions of years ago, the sky broke open.
A relic fell burning from the heavens and shattered over an ancient civilization. Every fragment carried the same glowing mark: a sigil no one had ever seen. Its light blinded everyone it touched. Then the crystals began to grow from inside them.
The people of that city became the Hollowed. The world they built became a wasteland of ruins, crystal and stone.

The girl in the ruins
Ages later, deep inside a laboratory hidden beneath the ruins, a seven-year-old girl opened her eyes.
Her name is Eimma. She had no memory, no family and no answers. Only a silver bracelet on her wrist, engraved with the same sigil that ended a civilization, and a code: EIM-007.
For five years she survived the wasteland alone. She learned by running, hiding and watching, until she knew every creature's strengths and every weakness. Now she is twelve, and she has one question left: where did I come from?

From Eimma's Field Notes
#001: The Hollowed. Once human. No eyes, no nose; they hunt by sound. Fast, but weak arms, and they can't swim. They feed on crystals, and sometimes on each other. Without crystals, the sigil fades and they turn to stone. "Stay quiet. Water is safe. Never touch their crystals."
#002: Shardhounds. The curse didn't stop with people. Wounded by the Hollowed, the wolves changed too, but they kept their eyes. They hunt in packs, faster than the Hollowed. "They can see and hear you. Climb. If the leader falls, the pack scatters."
